Being Green

All PLS homes are Energy StarTM homes, certified by EnergyLogic, third party assessors who measure our houses against strict guidelines for energy efficient homes.  However, PLS doesn't only strive for the Energy Star stamp-of-approval, every home is also Built Green in accordance with HBA of metro Denver guidelines.  You'll love the comfort, quality and energy savings you'll receive from your new home.

You might ask, "What makes a home energy efficient?"  Homes by PLS incorporate the following building techniques to work towards better efficiencies in all of our new home construction:

Effective Insulation: Too often, homes are insulated incorrectly, resulting in significant--yet invisible--energy leaks.  We install our insulation with precision: no gaps, voids, compressions, or misalignments.

90% Efficient Furnace: As a standard, PLS Homes installs 90% efficient furnaces that use up to twenty percent less energy than standard models.  That equals about $400 in heating bill savings in the first five years you live comfortably in your new home. Construction Details that Conserve Energy: All of our new home construction uses effective sealing methods--caulks, foams, weather stripping, and sealants,--to reduce drafts and keep out harmful pollutants, pollen, and pests.

High Performance Windows: Amerimax® windows with Low-E coatings help keep heat in during the winter and out during the summer. That's important in alternatively windy or warm Colorado! They also block damaging ultraviolet sunlight that can fade carpets, interior finishes, and furniture.

Home Energy Rating by EnergyLogic: Thermal bypass analysis and pressure testing ducts by EnergyLogic, an independent third-party inspector, ensures that your home meets the EPA's strict guidelines for energy efficient homes.  Your home will be at least 15% more energy efficient than a traditionally built home.

Comfort and quiet, lower utility bills, healthier indoor air: the benefits of our standard, energy-conscious construction features not only save you money for the future, they also provide increased comfort for you and your loved ones.
